The De Bortoli family own vineyards in four very diverse premium wine growing regions, working to create interesting regional style wines. Most famous of all the company`s wines is Noble One, created by Darren De Bortoli in 1982, who was a fan of Sauternes and recognised the potential to make a dessert wine from `botrytis` affected grapes from Riverina, where the family are based.
This signature Aussie blend is made from Semillon grapes, balanced with ripe and subtley oaked Chardonnay. This creates a straw colour wine with aromas of lemon, passionfruit and melon. The palate is soft from influence of the Chardonnay, this gives it exotic ripe peach, mango and lime flavours with subtle nutty notes on the palate that linger on the finish.
